Hive Projects is proud to be supporting the University of Liverpool on its visionary Health Innovation Liverpool (HIL) Programme; a nationally unique initiative built on a quadruple helix model that brings together academia, the NHS, industry, and the local community.

This transformative development aims to reimagine and revolutionise the University’s Health and Life Sciences Campus in the heart of the Liverpool City Region. It supports the University’s ambition to be recognised as a globally-leading, Top 100 ranked institution.

The HIL Programme comprises two flagship facilities that will redefine healthcare research, education, and innovation:

Academic Health Sciences Campus (AHSC)

Located adjacent to the Royal Liverpool University Hospital and Clatterbridge Cancer Centre, the AHSC will transform medical education and clinical care. It will feature state-of-the-art learning environments, integrated technologies, and embedded research to create a patient-centred “teach and treat” setting. The facility will support clinical trials, research and development, and the continuous professional development of NHS professionals.

Bio-Innovation Campus (BIC)

Building on the University’s global strengths in infectious diseases, pharmacology, and life sciences, the BIC will be a hub for cutting-edge academic–industry collaboration. The campus will help address emerging challenges including AI, climate change, industrial biotechnology, and pandemic preparedness, while equipping the next generation of graduates with future-focused skills.
