We are excited to announce that Hive Projects has been appointed as the project managers for the Castle Road Scheme in Kidderminster, a significant step forward in addressing the need for short-term accommodation in the district. The Wyre Forest District Council‘s approval for a three-storey residential building at the corner of Castle Road and New Road marks a crucial milestone in their commitment to creating positive impacts within communities. The scheme focuses on providing support for displaced individuals looking to gain permanent housing solutions.

The Castle Road Scheme encompasses the construction of a three-storey residential building featuring 20 ensuite accommodation units, office space, associated car parking, and carefully planned landscaping. Notably, each floor will house a shared kitchen diner and lounge area, fostering a sense of community among residents. The inclusion of outdoor spaces further enhances the living experience for the occupants.

At Hive Projects, we place a strong emphasis on social value and community impact. The Castle Road Scheme aligns perfectly with our organisational values, emphasising our dedication to projects that create tangible, positive outcomes for the communities they serve. This scheme, with its focus on providing short-term accommodation, is poised to make a meaningful difference in the lives of those it directly impacts.

Patrick Hickey, Associate Director of Hive Projects “We are thrilled to be working with Wyre Forst District Council, along with the appointed construction partners, Stepnell, on such a valuable and socially impactful project. The Castle Road Scheme represents a blend of purposeful construction and community development, whilst addressing prevalent issues and challenges being faced by members of the community. We are enthusiastic about the positive changes it will bring to Kidderminster.”

The construction programme for the Castle Road Scheme is set to commence in February 2024, with practical completion expected in early 2025.

Hive Projects looks forward to working collaboratively with all stakeholders involved in the Castle Road Scheme and remains steadfast in our dedication to projects that enrich communities and contribute to the overall well-being of the residents in Kidderminster. So we continue to work on this scheme we will look to collaborate with local organisations, enterprises, and community interest groups in the delivery of the Castle Road development and hope to engage with many community members around the social impact opportunities along the way.
