PROJECT Overview

About the Project

Hive were appointed to provide Project Management and Cost Management services for the redevelopment of the the former Cheadle College Campus to create a new Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) education campus.

  • Secondary school for 150 students aged 11 -19 with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Social, Emotional Mental Health (SEMH) needs
  • Aged 19+ provision for 50 adults between the 19-25 years old with a wide range of complex needs including a range of mild to profound learning difficulties and Autism Spectrum Disorder. This facility would provide Adult Social Care and education and real world/ life skills environment.

The project involved a range of refurbishment, new build and demolition of the existing estate with an additional consideration for outdoor learning environment and new drop off/parking provision.

The appointment was made in June 2025 and Hive provided project management and cost management services through RIBA 0 and 1. This included leading on the development of a Strategic Business Case for funding approval, procurement of a design team and managing the preparation of the feasibility study to inform the preferred development option.

  • Develop programme and phasing strategy for project delivery
  • Coordinate stakeholder engagement across all levels including external stakeholders on the campus
  • Liaise with planning authority and highways
  • Risk management including development of the risk register
  • Develop comms and reporting procedure through various levels of governance including Project Board and Capital Board
  • Establish and track budget against cost plan
